Beaches of Calpe
Fine sand, turquoise water and the Peñón de Ifach as a natural landmark: Calpe’s coastline is one of the most photogenic on the Costa Blanca.
Within a few kilometres Calpe offers wide urban beaches, intimate coves and golden-sand corners at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park. From Residencial Paradero de Ifach you are a step from Cantal Roig, between Arenal-Bol Beach and La Fossa Beach, with the fishing harbour and the Real Club Náutico as neighbours.
Arenal-Bol Beach
The main town beach: almost two kilometres of fine sand facing the Peñón. Ideal for sunrise walks, swimming in shallow water and enjoying beach bars and services in season. The seafront promenade links the centre with the harbour and is perfect for a sunset stroll.
- Best light for photos: early morning and late afternoon.
- Family-friendly, with easy access from the centre.
- Combine a swim, a walk and a terrace with Peñón views.
La Fossa Beach
On the other side of the rock, La Fossa (also called Levante) forms a crescent of golden sand with usually calm water. A favourite for families seeking space, beach bars and a different view of the massif from the north.
- Lively in summer, quieter outside peak season.
- Excellent for swimming and a full beach day.
- At dusk the Peñón glows gold.
Cantal Roig Cove
Small, sheltered and crystal-clear: Cantal Roig sits at the foot of the Peñón beside Residencial Paradero de Ifach. Fine sand, an intimate feel and a “private beach” vibe that guests in Sotavento and Barlovento love.
- Ideal for an unhurried early swim.
- Very close if you stay at Paradero de Ifach.
- A perfect complement to the longer Arenal and La Fossa beaches.
Harbour, Levante and coastal walks
Calpe’s fishing harbour is more than a mooring: it is the food heart of town and a great starting point for walking the shore. From here you can join the promenade towards Arenal, visit the yacht club or simply watch the boats bring in the day’s catch.
- Don’t miss the fish market atmosphere around midday.
- Smaller coves towards Les Bassetes are more rocky.
- Wear comfortable shoes: the promenade invites a longer walk.
